A photograph from my photobook Metropolight published in 2017 and distributed to over 40 countries.
The book explored the extent to which urban architecture defines our existence. I stood in this particular spot for over two hours waiting for the right moment. I was mesmerised by the reflected lights and purple tones of the scene. The curve of the umbrella breaks up the straight lines of the city. Round shapes feel like a soothing touch in the harsh angles of urban architecture.
